About Us

Welcome to Tiekeltri.  We are a small but dedicated and, very importantly, responsible  hobby breeders of Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, West Highland White Terriers, British Shorthair and Ragdolls.  Always aiming to breed for good health, temperament, type, soundness and with a soft expression.

Our whole family love animals, especially cats and dogs. In particular the breeds mentioned above.  In fact it would be fair to say we’re all quite simply mad about them!

All our canine and feline family are first and foremost our beloved pets, who want for nothing.

We are members of The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club and three affiliated clubs, the West Highland White Terrie Club of England and we are also a recognised Kennel Club accredited breeder.

As for the felines, we are members of The British Shorthair Cat Club, The British Ragdoll Cat Club and the United Kingdom Ragdoll Breeders Society and have certificates for attending their seminars on the welfare of the breed.

We adhere to the highest possible standards in all our breeding and rearing programs and our girls are thoroughly vet checked before breeding from them. All our Cavalier girls have clear heart and eye certificates, as well as good hearing certificates. They have also been MRI scanned for Syringomyelia. Fortunately, WHWT aka Westies do not have too many problems. But ones most commonly  seen are to do with their skin. Our girls come from a long line of Westies who, thankfully, have not suffered with any of these ailments and to date all are puppies have followed in their ancestors pawprints.  All our British Shorthair and Ragdolls are PKD, HCM and Felv/Fiv tested and only bred from if all are found to be negative.

Please be aware that we emphatically are NOT a ‘factory’ breeder. We only have the maximum of one litter a year from our own beloved cats and dogs, and then only if they are fit and healthy enough. We go to great lengths to ensure that all our kittens and puppies are well socialised with people and each other (puppies and kittens happily playing together is a lovely sight), plus all the sights, sounds and smells associated with any normal household.  They are loved and adored and raised in a warm, clean and comforting an environment as possible, before leaving for their forever loving homes. Usually this is at 8 weeks for puppies and 13 weeks for kittens. But these can be subject to change, as none leave us until we are sure they are ready to.

All our kittens and puppies are as loved and cherished as any other family member from the moment they are born to the moment they go to their new homes, and we expect everyone who adopts one of our babies to treat them the same way. We are extremely careful where we place our babies and all prospective owners have to satisfy us that they will be able to provide a happy and comfortable loving home for their new puppy/kitten. It isn’t enough simply to want one – you have to show us that you are ready for the commitment!

In return, we make sure that all our puppies and kittens are given the very best possible start in life.  All our Cavaliers and Ragdolls like nothing better than to curl up on the nearest available lap; and our Westies and British Shorthair are not that far behind them!

All our puppies are Kennel Club registered and kittens GCCF registered, microchipped, wormed, flea preventative treated, reared on a high quality, low fat, gluten-free diet and are vet checked at least twice. Our precious babies come with either a puppy or kitten pack (depending, of course, on what you have), four weeks free insurance, five generation pedigree and a lifetime of help and advice. We don’t stop caring for our puppies and kittens when they go to new homes, and are always available for help and advice wherever and whenever it is needed for the lifetime of the animal.

We also appreciate and are thrilled to bits when we receive updates and photos of them along their way into adulthood and the years following that too. So please don’t be shy about keeping in touch, we just love it when you do.

Please have a look through our website and if you feel we can help you with your journey to having a new precious and joyful bundle of fluff in your life, or should you have any questions then please get in touch  – we will certainly do our utmost to help you!

Last, but not least, thank you for taking the time to read about Tiekeltri. We hope you have enjoyed your visit. If you have, why not leave a comment – we would like to know what you think.
